Oshun is the Goddess of the river from the West African religious tradition. One of her stories is how she learned about the mystery of divination, reading the cowrie shells, from Obatala, The Chief. She takes his white robes when he enters the river. When he goes to get his robes, she answers the door dripping in honey from her bath. On that day Obatala agreed to teach Oshun the mystery of divination.
I honor her as a dancer holding mirrors in a beautiful yellow dress against a Batik fabric with the colors of water and fishes.

Sometime You Just Have To Play In a Red World
The works started out learning a technique, flat lock with a serger machine to connect the squares. It worked! Besides red has always been my favorite color and playing with the materials brought me so much joy.

Shall We Dance With The Moon
The piece just expresses the joy of dancing and my partner is the moon.
